Round Rock prepares to extend city limits to land near N A.W. Grimes and University Boulevard
On Aug. 10, the city of Round Rock will hold a public hearing on the proposed annexation of the Hickerson-Keith property in northern Round Rock. The land, comprised of a little more than 114 acres, is situated in Williamson County. Surrounding pieces of land, subject to agricultural tax exemptions, have entered into development agreements with the city that state if development occurs on the land, the city has the right to annex it. The Hickerson-Keith tract, also subject to the agricultural exemption, refused such an agreement, triggering an involuntary annexation process.
