TxDOT suspends Austin-area road construction through Labor Day weekend

The Texas Department of Transportation has suspended work on the majority of Austin-area road construction projects until after the Labor Day weekend. TxDOT spokesperson Christopher Bishop said projects were suspended in order to reduce lane closures over the holiday weekend and to accommodate for evacuees from out of town who are temporarily in the metropolitan area due to Hurricane Harvey. According Bishop, only two projects will continue as scheduled:
