Police search for vehicle involved in auto-pedestrian collision

On March 14 at about 1:00 a.m., Angel Contreras was walking along IH-35 near the La Margarita Restaurant (just north of Sam Bass Rd) when he was struck and killed by a vehicle travelling southbound on IH-35. Investigation has determined that the vehicle that struck Angel was a 1996 to 2002 white in color Chevy Express van very similar to the one in the attached picture. The van was loaded down with boxes/luggage on top of it. After striking Angel, the van immediately exited IH-35 at RM 620/Round Rock Avenue.

We are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle involved in this accident. The van will have headlight and moulding damage on the right front of the van, as well as damage to the passenger’s side mirror. Anyone with information can contact Detective Patrick Turck at [email protected] or 512-218-7048.
