Local leaders graduate from UniverCity course

Published on May 24, 2018 under RRnews

Spring 2018 class, Round Rock UniverCity

Nineteen residents graduated from the City of Round Rock’s citizen education program, UniverCity, at Thursday’s City Council meeting.

The 10-week program was designed to engage and educate residents on the operations of the City. UniverCity participants get to experience firsthand the work it takes to run a city department. Each City department hosts a presentation, tour or break out session each week, and provide valuable information about day to day operations of the City and future projects. Graduates received an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look into City operations within each of its departments.

The following participants received a certification of completion: Mike Curtis, Jen Henderson, Marianne Reap, Cara Watkins, Candice McElhaney, Joe Alvarado, Christina Rudofsky, JC Williams, Amy Donovan, Angel Donato, Jennifer Smith, Jennifer Diamond, Donna Kohn, Julio Palacios, Arlen Zander, Laura McManus, Audrey Simmons, John Porterfield and Jon Reingold.

This was the second class to graduate from UniverCity, which started in fall 2017. Space is already limited for the next course, which is expected to begin in the fall.

“I want to thank everyone for taking the time to be engaged and to learn about what makes our City so great,” said Mayor Craig Morgan.

To inquire about the nomination process for upcoming classes or other questions about UniverCity, please email Neighborhood Services Coordinator Katy Price at [email protected].
