HARVEY UPDATE: Williamson County lifts burn ban after less than a week
According to a Monday morning release, Williamson County has lifted the burn ban that was placed on unincorporated areas of the county last week. The ban, which went into effect Tuesday, could have lasted for up to 90 days but was lifted in less than a week by County Judge Dan Gattis after the heavy rainfall Williamson County received over the weekend. “Due to the level of precipitation, [Gattis] felt it was safe to lift the burn ban,” county spokesperson Connie Watson said. “But people should still be careful.”
