Published on October 13, 2022 under RRnews

The Round Rock City Council approved on first reading Thursday, Oct. 13, a $1.08 increase in the monthly fee charged to residential customers for trash and recycling services.

If approved on second reading at the next City Council meeting on Thursday, Oct. 27, the new rates will go into effect on bills mailed out beginning Nov. 10. Residential customers would pay a total of $22.14 per month for their weekly trash and bi-weekly recycling pickup as a result of the proposed increase.

The fee change is needed to cover increased costs for fuel, landfill and operations incurred by Round Rock Refuse, the City’s service provider. The total proposed rate change also includes a 10-cent increase for administrative services provided by the City, which covers the following benefits for customers:

The last rate increase for solid waste occurred in March 2019.
