Brush Recycling Center accepting downed tree limbs

Published on February 12, 2021 under RRnews

The City of Round Rock’s Brush Recycling Center is open during regular hours for residents to dispose of brush, limbs and trees brought down by this week’s icy conditions.

Residents that live in the full purpose Round Rock city limits and pay city taxes (not simply Round Rock ISD taxes) may drop off up to 2 cubic yards of brush for free at the Brush Recycling Center310 Deepwood Drive, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Round Rock Refuse will also pick up limbs in the coming week. Property owners can bundle limbs that are less than 4 foot sections and less than 4 inches in diameter and place the bundles curbside on their normal trash pickup day. Limbs larger than 4 inches in diameter should be placed at the curb for Round Rock Refuse to pickup next Wednesday and Thursday. Please do not place bundles curbside or on sidewalks until your pickup day as City crews are working to keep roadways and sidewalks clear and safe.

There will be no additional charge for picking up tree limbs next week. Residents need to stick to the “plus-7” rule on their trash day. Residents with more than seven bundles need to call Round Rock Refuse at 512-255-4980 to schedule a free special pickup on Wednesday or Thursday.

Downed trees on public streets and sidewalks

The City’s Transportation crews are prioritizing removing brush and limbs that have fallen into roadways, and will only remove debris in City right-of-way. Limbs that are blocking roads or sidewalks can be reported by calling 512-688-0398. Any fallen trees on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.
Any tree limbs that have fallen on electrical lines should be reported to Oncor at 1-888-313-4747.
