BMX track opens in Pflugerville

A $2.6 million BMX racetrack will hold its grand opening in Pflugerville Aug. 7 and features a mixed surface track, concession area, shaded spectator area and pedestrian paths. The Travis County project was constructed at Northeast Metropolitan Park, a multi-use athletic complex that includes baseball fields, soccer fields and a skate park. The track is sanctioned by the USA Bicycle Moto Cross organization and is the first track of its size and dimensions in North America, according to a Travis County statement.
