Williamson County issues burn ban, effective for up to 90 days

Published on July 11, 2017 under CommunityImpact

At Tuesday’s Williamson County Commissioner Court meeting, commissioners voted to implement a county burn ban to last up to 90 days. It can be lifted by County Judge Dan Gattis once conditions improve. The ban stipulates that a person cannot burn any combustible material outside of an enclosure which contains all flames. It also prohibits the burning of household yard waste including leaves, grass, brush and trimmings. The burning of trees, stumps and shrubbery to clear land is also forbidden.
