Wheels are turning on dozens of transportation projects
No matter where you live in Round Rock, chances are good there is road work going on near you. If not, then a project nearby is probably in the works to break ground shortly.
That’s the conclusion drawn from a presentation given by Transportation Services Director Gary Hudder to the City Council on July 11, 2019. Hudder provided a comprehensive overview, complete with maps and photos, of the many projects the City is working on that are either in the construction or planning stage. Check our Transportation Master Plan for an even more detailed look at the City’s plans for the future.

- 1:10 — Recently completed projects: Roundville Lane, Gattis School Road/Mays Street intersection improvement, Texas Avenue, McNeil Road extension phase 1
- 12:50 — Recent/current Street Maintenance Projects (SMP): Sandy Brook, Eagle’s Nest, Creek Bend/Creekmont and Bent Tree
- 5:45 — Future Street Maintenance Projects: Jester Farms, Apollo Circle, Settlers Landing, Ryans Crossing, Meadow Lake, Rolling Ridge, Remington Heights, Forest Ridge, Bradford Park

Grimes Boulevard to SH 130, improving Red Bud north of U.S. 79 to ease problems getting into and out of the shopping centers there, Logan Street connection from Greenlawn Boulevard to A.W. Grimes Boulevard
- 14:38 — RM 620 widening from Deepwood Drive to IH 35
- 21:58 — U.S. 79 improvement related to future entry to Kalahari Resort and wastewater plant road
- 22:38 — University Boulevard utility relocations progress (which means construction is coming soon)
- 23:41 — Oakmont Drive extension will provide access to Nutty Brown site, and Mays Street extension partnership with Wilco
- 24:42 — RM 1431 signal at Texas Crushed Stone truck entrance/exit road
- 25:49 — Arterial roadway landscaping, corridor fencing
- 27:09 — New projects: Wyoming Springs extension from Brightwater to Old Settlers Boulevard; County Road 112 from A.W. Grimes to CR 110; Old Settlers Boulevard extension from Red Bud to CR 110; Red Bud Drive north reconstruction from U.S. 79 to CR 117/122, Red Bud Drive widening from Forest Ridge to Gattis School Road
- 35:24 — Funding: Roadway Impact Fee, CAMPO grants, Certificates of Obligation (property tax-backed bonds), Type B sales tax for arterials
