Volente, BCRUA to hold public meeting to discuss deep-water intake project

The Village of Volente and the Brushy Creek River Utility Authority will hold a town hall community meeting on June 10 at the Volente Fire Department. The BCRUA will present the citizens of Volente with an update about its deep water intake project and how it will affect residents, Volente Mayor Ken Beck said. The project will pump water from Lake Travis to a water treatment plant in Leander, and the water will flow through tunnels underground in Volente. “They’ve identified where they intend to dig the tunnel underground, and they need to acquire right of way easements,” Beck said.
