Twice-per-week watering restrictions enacted in Cedar Park for summer
The city of Cedar Park has started its Think Twice campaign to remind water customers to follow their twice-per-week designated watering days and times as the hot summer weather starts. The campaign also encourages residents to conserve water. During the summer, outdoor irrigation accounts for most water usage in Cedar Park, according to a release from the city. Water usage often doubles during long stretches without rain. For example, on a Wednesday and Thursday in mid-August last year, when Cedar Park was experiencing several weeks without rain, water production jumped to 22.53 million gallons and 23.47 million gallons each day.
