Statewide primary election results

Posted at 11:35 p.m. March 1 According to unofficial results, U.S. presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton are leading the races for the Republican and Democratic parties’ presidential nominations, respectively, in the March 1 primary election. In Texas both the Democratic and Republican parties hold a primary election to determine which candidate should represent each party in the general election. The 2016 general election will take place Nov. 8. Clinton has received 65.80 percent of statewide votes in the Democratic primary, while Bernie Sanders has taken 32.19 percent, according to unofficial early results from the Texas Secretary of State’s office.
