Solar power provider extends service to Austin homes

Published on September 9, 2016 under CommunityImpact

A national solar power provider is making its service available to Austin homeowners for $50 a month or more. SolarCity announced the launch Thursday of its Austin operations and will provide solar power to households in the Austin Energy service area. It can also serve non-Austin Energy customers in the Austin metropolitan area through a partnership with energy provider MP2, according to a news release. The $50 or more a month customers would pay for service would include the cost of design, installation, financing and monitoring their solar panel systems.
