Round Rock to honor Veterans with ceremony
The Veterans Monument committee will host a salute to veterans on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The event will be held at Veterans Park, 600 Pecan Avenue.
The Round Rock Veterans Monument was built by the City of Round Rock as a place of honor and remembrance for all who are serving or have served in the past to protect and defend our American freedoms and heritage. It is a place where veterans can show their pride for having served and where families and friends can honor veterans for their service.
Dedicated on Memorial Day in 2015, the monument features six columns with plaques that honor the different service branches, including the Army, Marine Corp, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. A memorial wall honoring veterans who have been killed in action, held as a prisoner of war, or declared missing in action is also part of the monument.
