Poster contest to raise awareness of value of water
The contest is being launched in conjunction with Imagine a Day Without Water, which is recognized by cities across the country on Oct. 10. This nationwide day of education and advocacy about the value of water emphasizes the need for water almost all aspects of life, in addition to the systems that bring water to and from our homes and businesses.
One winner will be chosen from each age category (5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-15 years, and 16+ years). Winners will receive a gift card, public recognition and a picture with the Mayor during the Nov. 8 City Council Meeting, as well as have their artwork displayed at City Hall through the end of December.
Poster entries are due on Nov. 1. Posters will be judged on artistry, creativity, originality, and the ability to communicate the importance of water in our everyday lives.
Any medium can be used (paint, colored pencils, crayons, markers, digital, etc.), and posters must be standard letter size paper or larger up to 12-by-12 inches.
Printed entry forms and poster templates (optional) can be picked up at the Library and Utility Billing Office or downloaded below:
Submit your artwork and entry form at any of the locations listed below by Nov. 1, 2018. Questions can be directed to [email protected]. For full contest rules and more information, visit roundrocktexas.gov/imaginedaywithoutwater.
