Round Rock Police arrested two men in Hutto following a home invasion robbery earlier in the day in Rock Rock.

At 1:55 p.m Wednesday, July 22, police responded to a robbery in progress at the 3900 block of Whitey Ford Way. Two Hispanic males entered a residence, pointed a gun at a 20-year-old male victim, and restrained him with duct tape. The suspects took numerous items and fled the scene in a maroon passenger vehicle.

The victim provided officers with information about the suspects’ vehicle and was able to identify one of the suspects by name. The vehicle was located at a residence in Hutto. Due to the high risk circumstances, the Police SWAT team was dispatched to the location.

A stolen vehicle and property taken from the robbery in Round Rock were recovered.

Gilbert Wayne Flores (DOB 11/21/1985) was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and a parole violation. Joe Michael Zapata (DOB 11/13/1994) was charged with aggravated robbery. Both suspects are currently being held in the Williamson County Jail.
