Pflugerville assistant police chief Jim McLean announces his retirement

On Tuesday, Jim McLean, Pflugerville Police Department assistant chief, announced he would be retiring after serving the community for 24 years. McLean said he plans to retire at the end of August. He has previously served with the Hutto Police Department, and he began his career with PPD in 1993 as a nighttime patrol officer. McLean has been serving in his current role of assistant chief since 2007, although he has filled a variety of roles, including stints as a K-9 officer, sergeant, lieutenant and captain, as well as serving as the department’s public information officer.
