Pedernales Electric Cooperative: 21 employees head to Florida to help with hurricane recovery
The Pedernales Electric Cooperative sent 21 employees to help with Hurricane Irma recovery in Quincy, Florida, on Monday, according to a statement from the PEC. After Irma hit Florida over the weekend, the Talquin Electric Cooperative—which services portions of Tallahassee and its surrounding area—had over 32,000 meters without service, according to an online alert from the cooperative. As of Tuesday, the electric cooperative had restored service to over 82 percent of meters previously without power, according to the same alert.
