Over 315 Austin area musicians volunteer to perform at local Hurricane Harvey shelters

More than 315 Austin area musicians volunteered to perform at Austin evacuation shelters in less than 24 hours after the city of Austin Music Office announced the need Monday afternoon. Melissa Alvarado, from the city of Austin’s Economic Development Department, said there’s no longer any need for live music at the shelters because of the overwhelming response the city received.
