No one injured in July 4 house fire

At 4:41 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, Round Rock Fire Department units responded to a report of a structure fire at 100 Blue Spruce Way.

The first fire department units arrived at 4:46 p.m. The first fire units on-scene reported smoke coming out of the homes front door. Fire crews entered the home and discovered a mattress on fire in one of the homes bedrooms. The fire was extinguished and confined to the bedroom.

One person was at home at the time of the fire. Smoke detectors alerted her of the fire and she escape uninjured. 

Damage is estimated at $24,000 for the structure and contents.

Three engines, two aerials, and a shift commander responded for a total 16 fire personnel. The fire was contained at approximately 4:54 p.m. and totally extinguished by 5:03 p.m. The last fire department units cleared the scene at 7:19 p.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
