Public Services Manager

Geeta Halley, Public Services Manager at the Round Rock Public Library, was honored as Small Business Champion of the Year by the SBA San Antonio District Office.

Halley coordinated the Library’s Biz.ability Workshops to assist small business owners or those starting their own businesses. Halley partnered with SCORE Austin to present the free workshops, presented by recognized experts and practitioners, which cover a variety of issues facing small business owners and entrepreneurs including financial issues, marketing, and strategic planning.

“We are excited for Mrs. Halley and for the Biz.ability program,” Library Director Michelle Cervantes said. “Mrs. Halley’s goal is to provide high value services and create a great community to live and work.”

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has declared National Small Business Week to formally recognize the important role and contributions of America’s small businesses.  National and local events recognize top entrepreneurs for their achievements to include those individuals and organizations who champion small business.  Special recognition is also given to SBA resource partners and community organizations for their outstanding efforts in business and entrepreneurial development.

This year’s National Small Business Week is scheduled for April 30-May 6.

This year’s winners will be celebrated during an award luncheon at the Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade on May 4.
