Leander to spray insecticide after another mosquito sample reveals West Nile
The city of Leander will spray for mosquitoes at between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the area surrounding Devine Lake Park, the fire department announced Nov. 9. A mosquito sample taken from a trap near Devine Lake Park, off Waterfall Avenue, tested positive for West Nile virus, the city discovered Nov. 8. The sample was collected Nov. 3. The Leander sample is the 12th mosquito sample in Williamson County to test positive for the virus. A sample tested positive for West Nile in Cedar Park in October.
