Leander ISD to offer videos of board meetings in January
Leander ISD board of trustees meetings will soon become available online. Because of HB 283 passed in the last state legislative session, Texas school districts with 10,000 or more students are required to record regularly scheduled meetings and make the video available online within seven days after the meeting took place, said Scott Monroe, LISD executive director of technology. HB 283 takes effect Jan. 1, 2016, and also requires the district to archive the meeting videos for no less than two years. Videos of board workshops and retreats are not required to be recorded, Monroe said.
