Leander ISD to host adolescent mood disorder awareness program
Leander ISD parents are invited to attend an adolescent mood disorder informational program May 17. The event, which starts at 6:30 p.m. in the lecture hall at Rouse High School, 122 Raider Way, is hosted by Leander ISD Counseling Services and presented by the Johns Hopkins University Adolescent Depression Awareness Program. Karen Swartz, a mood disorders specialist, will discuss and answer questions about adolescent depression and bipolar disorder. Topics covered will include characteristics, symptoms, prevalence and treatment.
