Leander ISD approves new superintendent contract

In a unanimous vote, the Leander ISD board of trustees approved a contract of employment for the district’s new superintendent Dan Troxell. District officials said Troxell’s first day will be Aug. 29. “Congratulations Dr. Troxell,” Board President Will Streit said at the Aug. 17 meeting. “It’s no surprise … how excited we are, how thrilled we are to have Dr. Troxell joining our Leander ISD family.” After the vote, Streit noted a number of Troxell’s past accomplishments, including earning the 2008 Texas Superintendent of the Year award and achieving National Blue Ribbon School status.
