Mayor Alan McGraw and the Round Rock City Council invite the community to the swearing-in and badge pinning ceremony for new Fire Chief Robert Isbell at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Fire Station 4, 1301 Double Creek Drive.

Isbell, who most recently served as Midland’s Fire Chief, was confirmed by City Council in October. He replaces David Coatney, who resigned in June to take the Chief’s job in Dallas.

Following Isbell’s swearing-in, City officials will celebrate the opening of Station 4 and Station 8. Both stations are 11,780 square feet, one story, with three apparatus bays. Station 4 is additionally equipped with a fire engine and will house a Battalion Chief. Station 8, 1612 Red Bud Lane, is additionally equipped with a ladder truck and a Williamson County Emergency Medical Service unit.

“The construction of these two fire stations is to improve the response needs of the community and shows our City’s dedication to the safety and well-being of our citizenry,” Battalion Chief Shane Glaiser said.

These stations are the first to be constructed with bond funds approved by Round Rock voters in 2013.
