The Mays Street bridge over the Union Pacific railroad line was dedicated on Sunday, Jan.  22, as the Immortal Ten Bridge, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the tragic bus crash in Downtown Round Rock that killed 10 basketball players, coaches and fans from Baylor University who were traveling to Austin for a game. Those who died are honored as The Immortal Ten at Baylor.

As a result of the crash, the Mays Street bridge was erected as the first railroad overpass in Texas. The City of Round Rock has improved the bridge with various Baylor inspired aesthetic enhancements such as green and gold striping, ten green light poles, and plaques to honor each of the ten men that were killed.

The dedication ceremony for the bridge included many family members of those that were in the crash, Baylor University representatives, and countless local Baylor alumni.
