$2.5 million in dam repairs coming to Lower Brushy Creek WCID

The Lower Brushy Creek WCID, a self-proclaimed little-known flood control district, will repair and rehabilitate flood control dams in eastern Williamson County. Following the May 2015 floods, the WCID requested assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to repair two dams damaged by the high water.  The WCID recently awarded a $885,880 construction contract to repair the two earthen dams.  According to WCID General Manager Jim Clarno, the repairs will protect several county roads as well as private property downstream in the Turkey Creek area.
